The Kotagiri temperature in Kotagiri is far more pleasant across the year compared to Ooty and Coonoor. Summer holidays between March to May will be warmer and crowded due to schools and summer hoidays. The another best time to visit Kotagiri is between December to February, when the winter is at its peak. The days are chilly, and temperatures range between 5 degrees C to 12 degrees C, comfortable and pleasant.

From the direction of Tamilnadu Tourism Dept and Kotagiri Forest dept only Catherine waterfalls view point, Kodanadu view point, Trekking is been offically allowed for tourist. Rest of the places like Elk Falls, Sundatty falls, Rangaswamy Peak, Kodanadu trekking zone are not safer and NOT allowed for tourist. (Noted on Nov 2022). So plan your trip and timing accordingly.
